Question supension lift, tire size

I have a 99 ranger xlt and i want to put a six inch suspension and two inch body lift on it. I'm trying to figure out the biggest tire I can use or a decent looking tire size, not to big not to small?

2wd? Only non-custom body lift you will find is a 3"

I would just buy the 3" bl, and if you want you could cut them down if you really wanted. For suspension, you have a 3" spindle option, plus a 2.5-3" coil lift. From there I believe 36s are possible...maybe 37s, but that is with the 3" bl

Because they want to....does it affect you? I drove a lifted 2wd. The EDGE/Sport is technically a lifted 2wd as it sits higher than the standard XL/XLT 2wd.

Stephen, let me know when/ if you do it, if you are planning on installing yourself. I have still not participated in a body lift and would like to see how it goes.

x3 haha. it does make it look better though and one of my friends is about to lift his 2 wheel drive tacoma.. a 2wd with a lift and mud tires can go through alot of stuff as long as its straight and theres no turning involved haha. turning is what kills 2wd's in the mud...

If you guys wanna battle why people lift 2wd's, start your own thread...

All I'm gonna say is for what I do with my truck, I'm never in 4wd usually. If just on the street, there's really no need for 4wd. If I don't do the crazy stupid shit I do on trails in the winter or summer, I would be driving huge 2wd Edge...

coil springs? If so, only options are 5.5" suspension, 3" body....and those that run that setup run 35's. When you get that big of a tire, you really should look into a gear swap.

sorry and yeah to the OP - your options are 5.5" RCD, 4" super lift, or 3" body... thats about all there is out there and the RCD is give or take 2500, superlift about 1500, and body lift is 200. like shane said, you can fit 35s with the double lift (superlift+BL or RCD+BL). both of the lifts by themselves only clear 33s according to the companies but im sure if you were willing to trim some stuff you could stuff 35s...

Those are 4x4 lifts...except for the body lift. And RCD is discontinued.

oh crap. haha yeah i forgot about that. The RCD lift is discontinued but you can still order them.. for 2wd theres more options i think but all i know of is the fabtech 3" spindle and the fabtech 2.5" something and you can put them together for the 5.5" lift. not sure on prices but there cheaper than the 4wd lifts i think
