Default 2wd body lift-

Alright, so I am not the most tec-savvy person.

I'm thinking of a 2"-3" body lift for my 01 2wd.

Could someone give my a list of everything that I would need, because I have no idea what all I would need. (links would be nice too, thanks!)

Yeah. I'd lean more towards 31's or even just stock 4x4 wheels and tires off craigslist. They won't rub...32's are likely to rub. And you've likely got 3.73 gears and having that 3.0, larger tires aren't gonna be too much fun without upping to 4.10's. I'd do 31's max.

Bigger gears, more teeth.. slower, more responsive... Used for tire compensation on lifted trucks.

Oh alright. I get it now. I don;t wanna get that involved, just more clearance and a more aggressive look.

See what gears you've got first...clicky click click: http://www.fordrangerforum.com/drive...xle-codes.html

The gears we are talking about are the differential gears. These convert power from the driveshaft, and split it into a T to send power to the tire. There's a better way to describe it, but I'm kinda dumb right now. lol.

It's the 3.73.

So like a 3" BL with my rims, with anything 31" or lower would be chill?

Yeah...I'd just do 31" period. Or stock 4x4 sized stuff. You've got about 28's on it now. I see stock wheel/tire combos go for in the 300 range on craigslist. Might bump up to a 16" rim too that's better looking. Never know.

Oh okay cool. Something to think about.

So... would i need to worry about gap-guards or anything mechanical?
