question about lift kits
Hey everyone,
I feel silly asking this but i honestly dont know the difference between the two. Are there any pro's or cons between a body lift vs suspension?. Ive heard suspension is better in terms of clearance for undercarriage components, havnt heard anything regarding body.
Being realistic, im planning to do it just to give my truck a more aggressive look, but its only going to be on mild off road conditions maybe 10% of the time, and even then only on a rough gravel road or a hard packed quad trail maybe, nothing really hardcore that a stock truck couldnt handle. In my case its more just for the look. Most of the time its a pavement princess.
So because of what im using it for, im wondering which wuold be more beneficial for me?. Im planning on a 4", and i was already intending to bite the bullet and get the 2300$ kit. But thats only because i wasnt aware of any other options.
Thoughts?

body lift gives you the look of a lift without function. your frame, suspension, etc. stay at the same height. pro's: cheap. con's: more ugly visible frame, no benefit offroading, waste of money IMO.
suspension lift lifts your truck by the suspension. more function due to the overall higher ground clearance, possible increased suspension travel depending on lift, and possible update to shocks and springs/torsion bars. pro's: more function con's: expensive depending on truck, the higher you go the more it costs.

Sounds like body lift is what your looking for man. suspension is functional body is looks only but way cheaper like 200 bucks. Save some if that cash got new tires and rims, or something else like mods, offroad lights, new stereo and speakers etc.

Isn't a spindle lift only for 2WD trucks?

Re: question about lift kits
if its for a little bit of offroading go BL, i personally dont like them but its not worth 2k-3k for a superlift for mild offroading. Save yourself the money and buy tires and rims

Yup see, he wants looks, basically a mall crawler. Just do the bl and spend all that cash on tires, wheels, a winch, tools, and many more things more useful for your purposes.

Get a body lift; crank your tbars some frot the front and get either and AAL kit for the rear or lift shakles(or both lol) and you'll still be cheaper then the 2-3k you were planning on spending for the suspension lift.. which you'll then be able to get some nicer wheels and tires!

Re: question about lift kits
Yea for your purposes do the body lift and use the $2k you save and put it towards payments or mods (tires, wheels, lights, etc)

Re: question about lift kits
I'd say screw it and get the best of both worlds. You're already willing to spend $2300 for a sus, whats $200 more on a BL? Double lift that sucker. Thats what I plan to do anyways . In my case tho I'm adding a few more ponies with a 302 swap, 3.0's dont turn 35's very well.
