I guees if you cant find someone to cut then you do it your self

I just pulled 2880 pounds with my bodylifted truck and modded hitch. it is bolted and welded . That 2880 does not include the 800-1000 pounds the trailer weighed by it's self
.

Was welded on the front side and back side

I dont know if your saying Nice because it is a clean cut, or because there is really a grasshopper in the picture.

4.5" angle grinder with a cut-off wheel is a shitton easier to cut....and I feel it's also tons more accurate. But I still don't like that setup STL and Ben had. Just looks too sketchy for me, but still tons better than my first attempt at a hitch lift...I shoulda thought mine out better when I did it. I'd rather make the same cut, cut 3" out of it, grind out a fatty v-groove and fill both sides. Grind one side down flush, put on a reinforcement plate of 1/4" ontop of the old joint, then weld the bastard on. Maybe even do two reinforcement plates. I'd much rather have it overbuilt than under.
