Default Installing new shocks

OKay ive got an 08 and when i look at the front shock the frame goes around it. so... that top screw on the shock once i start twisting it off the rest of the shock will start spinning with it huh?

also i bought used shocks. you can compress them with your hands and they dont pop back up. arent they supposed to just pop back up?

Put a wrench on the end of the shock.
Sounds like you got some cheap oil filled shocks. Good gas shocks will extend. If you have an 08, my guess is your stock shocks are better than the ones you "scored!"

Default shocks

yup- sounds like your score, isnt much better than what you had. they shouldnt bounce back, all a shock does is control movement. not support the vehicle, thats what springs are for, so, depending on what you got, if its valved right, it could be moved either direction with the force of your muscles....if its a simple oil filled shock, or if its gas. what brand did you get....

depends.. alot of shops probably looking for work right now... take your time on the prep work though....what kind did you get? (fiberglass) ive heard good things about fabtech, havent run any of there stuff, is it an external reservoir shock? rebuildable? valving? you might want to check the valving before you put them in, unless you know it was on another ranger. i know fabtech supports the toyota guys alot more than the ford guys.

Default wheels off the ground

SWEET! if they are already valved for a ranger, you should have no issues. sounds like its a good ride. when do we get to see some pics?
