Default Lift Questions

2000 Ford Ranger XL. Leaf Springs on rear wheels.

Im looking at a few different options for getting a little lift on the Banger. A few questions on what I can actually do.

Can I do a t-bar crank on my truck?

If I go with a body lift, how difficult is it for me to do it myself?

And I really don't have the funds for a suspension lift.

Tried checking other threads, but it looked like no one else had my style Ranger.

Suggestions?

You have coil sprung, so no t-bar crank. body lift will need at least 2 people from what I have heard.

spindle lift is 350 or so for your truck, plus 50 for a shackle for the rear.

there are also coil spacers for your truck, but are hard to find for some reason.

you can buy lift springs for under $120, and you can install yourself. under 2" lift you wont need new UCAs. coil spacers can be found at advance auto parts for like $10.

So I have a 1999 and am in the same boat.
After weeks and weeks and weeks or research I have found a few different options.

Im buying a body lift on friday, for 3in of lift there.
Im putting in spacers and lift spindles up front for 5 extra inches there,
Im buying Explorer leafs, and will mix the leafs from the Ranger in the pack, so I will end up with packs of 8 leafs on each side and I am going to put blocks and lift shackles there.

This is for the ultimate in cheap and easy. All of these things can be done in any home garage, with fairly basic tools, and a good buddy.

The total cost of this 8" lift will be under $500.

Im only 17 and make barely above minimum wage, but the right budgeting and cheap and easy bolt-on parts will get me one hell of a little 2wd.

Thanks for the info, a body lift really seems like my best option.
And Nostackle, shouldn't your quote be
"My truck is Raised, so fat chicks can't get in." ?
Haha, that's what I would think

Nothing to add....but some have the sticker: lift it, fat chicks can't jump.

Lol, well at the moment, it's dropped 3in in the front and 4in in the rear below stock.
I figure they wont be able to bend down to get in!

And once I get the lift completed, Im gonna buy the correct sticker and will change my quote!!

I put a 3 inch body on with a buddy, its really not THAT hard, just time consuming. I got my kit for 235.00 from performance accessories, which came with everything i needed, gas line extentions and a steering columb extension + the regular parts. it took about 9 hours to install reading the manual...
