Cool Re: Help sway bar link snapped

Hey guys im new to this site. Ive owned and built many different Rangers. Mostly lifted ones...
But yes A (sway bar) can play a major factor in the way a truck drives and or handles. It is also known as a (stabilizing bar). Its purpose is to keep both sides in check with each other. The alignment can also be thrown way off because of it. (BUT) this has only been in cases where the height of the lift is a factor.. 6"-10" suspension lifts.
( I too have taken the sway bars completely off B4 ) for mostly looks,.. there are other things you can put on for control, it just depends on what one is willing to pay. The cheap way is to add extenders, and leave it on.
- ( leaving it on, is the very best thing you can do- if the truck is mostly driven on the road!!)
- ( for OFF ROAD use ) - I recommend taking it "OFF"... Just because it will allow the front end to flex to its fullest length of travel without being limited to the sway bars stopping control design.
BUT.. if you want the best of both worlds, you can put a (pull pin flex kit) on the control arms allowing you to set your ride whenever you want. made by- Terra Flex-
Thanks, for reading... if anyone has any question, ill try my best to help out with any Ranger problems.

Sway bar link kit is like $15 for both sides at Napa. May want to consider bushings as well. A lot of people on here elimnate the bar comepletly and have no problems other than having to get used to driving it a little different.

Suspension noises can be hard to diagnose without hearing/seeing them, but my guess is loose bar is clanking around. Check ball joint boots and see if any are torn.

and i'm bumping it again, i just have no class at all!

i busted one of the links on my '06 sport, so i'm researching what's what here.

does the fully attached sway bar serve to pull the front end down at all? like if one or both links were removed would the front naturally sit a little higher?

i've noticed that since adding the shell and filling it with various gear, it almost looks like my front end is a touch higher than the back; not a big deal but looks kinda funny.

i was hoping to fix both issues with a fixed sway bar link.

you could throw in a 2" add a leaf kit in the rear for about 60ish bucks. the rear will be slightly higher than the rear but thats how they come stock

yeah, i already have an add-a leaf going on back there to go with a spindle lift in front, i just got this truck a few months back and that's how it came.

in my avatar pic (taken in march, after i just got it and put the shell on) it looks right, but more recently i've noticed it looks just ever so slightly front-high.

oh well, it's going in for service and stuff (and to fix the link thing) pretty soon, i'll see what they say.
