I haven't measured, but I bet they're not 10* up. Ride is just a touch stiffer than before, but I kind of like that. It's not as stiff as my old F150 or Ram2500, but a bit more than my wife's Cayenne. I'm still considering putting in blocks or an AAL out back to give it a little rake, but I think it's light years better than it was!
What year is your truck? Model/trim package?

Default Re: Torsion Bar Lift For 2010 - 2011 Info

2011 XLT 4x4. Judging by the door code (11kk), looks like I have #1 torsion bars, which I understand are the stiffest. Like I said, it's level now, but I'm looking at getting a fiberglass canopy which is ~150lbs, so I think I am going to put the 1" leveling blocks in, cuz the shell is going to cause the back to droop some. Maybe I'll take a shot at that tomorrow.

Ahhh. Ford re-indexed the torsion keys in 2008 to get a softer ride (it also lowered the ride height). Pre 08 trucks sit an inch or so higher than 08 and newer trucks. If you want, you can swap in keys from a pre 08 truck and gain back that inch or so.

You already have 1.5" blocks from the factory. Stacking blocks is sketchy as hell, so would not recommend putting a 1" block on top of the factory one. You could swap in pre 08 factory blocks, which are an inch taller. Could also do an AAL or shackles.

Default Re: Torsion Bar Lift For 2010 - 2011 Info

Thanks for the info. That explains why my front axles/tie rods don't have the angles others have complained of. I'm up as high as I want to go up front at this point, so I think i'll stick with what i have. As for the back, I see what you mean about the factory blocks. At this point, I'm gonna return the leveling kit and get a pair of 2in AAL's. I'm getting a shell, so the extra wait (plus sand for the winter) should give me just the slightest rake. And the extra weight should help to soften the ride a little. But like my buddy said "always better a little too stiff, especially in front!" ;-) Thanks for the help!!
