Looking for a little extra lift
Just looking for some suggestions on how to squeeze a little extra height out of my 03 4x4. It's stock suspension right now and I'm not wild about doing a body lift. I've heard you can crank up the torsion keys. Anybody have any feed back on this.

Do it. It's a VERY common thing to do...cranking the torsion bars. I'd go two full rotations/turns of the adjustment bolt, then go from there. The adjustment bolts are there for a reason: ADJUSTMENT! They put a bandaid on sagging bars. Something to note: the driverside bolt is in deeper than the passenger side bolt to compensate for all the added weight on the driverside. Crank both sides evenly and you'll be find and still level.
An alignment check is suggested but not required.
I believe we've got a how-to in the how-to section of the site.

I checked the how to section and didn't see any info. It's probably there I just didn't see it. If anyone can direct me to a good write up on doing the t-twist that would be great.

Try this: how-adjust-torsion-bars thread
I just did mine a couple of months ago to get rid of the rake. Love it, and it's really simple to do.

Like Fx4wannabe01 said, an alignment check is suggested. It messed with my camber a bit when I did mine, but I did something like 4 full turns on each bolt.

How much lift did you gain by turning them up four turns? What is the max you can gain by turning them up?

I wouldn't go over 2". That's enough to make it level, anyway.

I was thinking if I put a 2" lift block in the rear I might be able to crank the front up 4"s to level it and get a cheap 4" lift. I guees I could put the 2" block in the rear and crank the front up 2"s and still have it look like its got the factory rake. What I'm try to achieve is enough lift to clear a set of 33x12.5-15 tires that will be mounted on rims with 3.5" back spacing. I wanted to install a 3" body lift until I read the installation manual and saw what a PITA it was. Has anybody here ever done this install on an 03?

You will NEVER get 4" out of it and if you did, it WAY too much for your balljoints and CV's to handle. The only way to get that kind of height is by using torsion keys and those a huuuuge no no. You've already got 2.5" blocks in the back. If you want bigger, crank the bars some and throw on a bodylift and 33's. You'll thank us in the long run.
Installing the bodylift is actually pretty easy, just is time consuming. If you can unbolt a bolt, you can install a bodylift.

No problem turning wrenchs here , as you said Fx4wannabe01 it just sounds a bit time consuming. I'm gonna start shopping around for a body lift.

I got just over 2" of lift on the crank to level it out. I think it was about 2.5 inches or there abouts.

Torsion Bars aren't hard at all. I did a 3" lift on my Nissan Pathfinder & had to replace & crank the torsion bars. YES, an alignment needs to be done. Good luck on the lift!
K, question for you Ranger fellas...... I have a '91 Ranger that I did a 2" lift on. I did add a leafs on the rear & F150 coils on the front. Works great, but I have to replace the removable inserts that are located in the beams....upper balls joint area? Need to put some Procomp 594 eccentric cams to adjust the alignment. Wheels are toed inward alittle. How hard/difficult is this process?
Thanks for all your help & input!
