dumb question. are there torsion bars on the rear? i think im going to crank my front end to level it and would like to lower the back end very slightly so the front end is just a little bit higher. could i do that with a torsion crank and would that be a good idea (are there any cons to this)? i think it looks sort of cool as long as its not to extreme of a difference.

No torsion bars in the rear. I believe your truck has blocks which you can remove and it will drop the rear to the height of an XLT truck.

I believe the blocks are 2". On a side note I just scored a set of 33x12.50-15 MT's. I'm gonna crank the t-bars and see how she looks with the new meats. She won't see much off road use so I think I'll have plenty of room. If its rubs too bad I'll toss in a 3" bl. When I get it done I'll post up some pics.

I guees we'll have to wait to see what she looks like with 33" mt's as I'm heading out right now to sell them. I suppose I could throw my 33" bfg at's on her.

If it's mostly pavement use, 33x12.50's are fine if you like the stuffed look. Expect some trimming of the valence and possibly the backside of the front flare. Removal of front mudflaps if equipped is pretty much required.

98-07 4x4 = 2.5" blocks
00-07 2wd torsion bar = 2" blocks
08-current torsion bar = 1.5" blocks
98-current 2wd coilspring = no blocks

Who are you asking? It's best to quote someone, then ask the question like I did in this post.

i cranked my torsion bars today. got about 2 inches out of it. its not much but i like it. i wish i could have gotten more but i didnt want to do to much. it leveled it out a bit. defiantly needed an alignment afterwords. i took the pictures before the alignment obviously and with an empty tank. so the back end was super light at the time. i filled up and got an alignment after and that helped it out. looks good and the ride isnt that much different. now i just need some bigger tires.

Looks like I will be doing a T-bar crank soon as well. I like the leveled out look it gives. Thanks to everyone for the info!
