Default Crankin t-bars..?

I'm on the blackberry and it takes way too long to search on this small screen sooooo....I've had a few people suggest crankin my torsion bars.

Few questions...

Does it wear tires faster or effect tire wear at all

How bad does it effect ride quality?

Any more things this might do?

Maybe a little. You'll be okay if you rotate your tires regularly, but it wouldn't hurt to get an alignment.

It will make the ride harder if you fully crank the bars.

Tires wont wear any faster if you get a alignment after you crank them. I had my alignment checked and it was not out some have and it was out.

If you crank them, it can lead to accelerated ball joint and CV joint/ axle wear or failure.

^^But not much more wear at all.

These trucks need ball joints by 70k without any cranking in the past and the outer tie rods are junk. I've been lucky with mine, others not so lucky having to replace sets every 40k or less sometimes. And i'm on 35's with steel wheels and maxed bars. BTW....BJ's still tight after replacing them at 70k and i'm now at 115k.

yeah it depends on how much, if you don't overdue it then you won't have a problem but I would suggest getting an alignment or at least checking it after you crank them and get them were you want

could always say F torsion bars and get coilovers

I'm maxed and sagged and have no plans to put in another set of bars.

I never got an alignment after I cranked mine. They front tires might be wearing a slight bit more on the insides. But I also went about 12K w/o rotating them, though...

No special tools needed, all your doing is turning two bolts.

Here's a how-to: http://www.fordrangerforum.com/how-s...sion-bars.html

when the driver's side adjustment bolt head is touching the block it threads into. aka....can't crank it anymore....aka....bottoming out the bolt.

Seeing as though torsion bars are the front suspension, it won't do anything to the rear.
