Default TTB or IFS?

I have TTB suspension, and i like it. what to get a newer ranger maybe a 97' to keep the TTB or a 98+ and get IFS. What do you guys like? and why? BTW im gonna be lifting it and offroading some. so "ride quality" isn't at the top of my list.

Both suspensions have there pros and cons, for offroad use the TTB is the better choice because of the lift options available, the strength and the articulation that you can get over the IFS setup. The biggest con with the TTB is the near constant maintenance and upkeep required to keep it working good. U-joints are almost a constant issue with them and also keeping an alignment is difficult.
As far as the IFS goes, its not totally terrible but lacks where the TTB doesnt offroad. The IFS is superior in the road handling and ride department and maintenance is much less than the TTB as well as the ability to hold an alignment. Lift choices for the IFS are few and far between and very expensive compared to the lifts available for the TTB so thats another thing to think about. Granted ive wheeled the piss out of my IFS ranger and it has held up fine but I was more confident with my TTB trucks in the rough stuff as far as durability. Basically, if you plan to off road all teh time get the TTB, if its mainly going to be a DD that will see the dirt once and a while get the IFS.

I love my ttb but then again, IFS is fairly easy to work on too. I'd still stick to TTB though due to cheaper parts. Stay away from te 98-00 models though due to thier extremely difficulty to change the hub assemblies...you need major special tools to do it.
