1"-3" body lift
cant decide wether to do a 1" or a 3" bl...does anybody have either? pros and cons.

I'd go 3". If you're going to do it, make it worthwhile.

1" body lift you have to build your self no one makes a 1" lift for your year truck and the rear bumper then looks like crap cause the gap
Do it right with the 3" lift

the 3" lift comes with bumper brackets that raise front and rear bumper up 3 inches so there is no more gap then what it is stock. 1" BL you'd have to come up with your own brackets to raise the bumper. IMO a 1" BL is too much effort for a tiny increase.

You can also get "gap guards" to cover the gap between the body and frame.

Yes.
But nobody here is going to recommend you get those aftermarket torsion keys. They suck.
Personally, I'd just do the BL, give your stock torsion keys a twist to level the truck, and be done with it.

Well if you do shackles, there's no other way (that I know of) to lift the front enough to eliminate the rake unless you do the torsion keys.
The stock Ranger is a couple inches higher in the rear. Since a body lift has nothing to do with your suspension, you'll still be higher in the rear after the body lift. The most you can crank the stock front end is about 2" - enough to level the front with the back. If you do something like shackles or add-a-leaf to lift the rear higher than stock, just cranking your stock torsion keys alone will not be enough to level the truck.
You could still do shackles if you didn't care about the rear being higher. Or if you really wanted to, you could get the torsion keys. But just be aware that those aftermarket keys are going to kill your ride quality, wear out the t-bars faster, and put way more stress and wear on your front end components.
Some people run those keys, but it's definitely not the ideal setup.

hehehe...thanks for whoring my truck for me! I went from a simple torsion crank, to the 1" bl, then to the 3", then on went the 4" suspension. It's a sick disease.
Figure out what you want first....how big of a truck do you want? What size tires do you want to run? All your threads are going back and forth between different ideas, different plans....I know you're figuring out what you wanna do. And that's good.
I only did the 1" for just a little more clearence for my 32" tires without maxing out my torsion bars. Out wheelin', the 32's went different ways and they liked to tag the body and throw flares. That's why I went 1"...to lessen the 'stuffage' factor.
Figure out what you want, then make a decision. If you're thinking of 33's, don't do the 1".
And now...to whore out the 32's and the 1" and 32's...
32's a minimal torison crank...
