Default 1993 4X2 lift questions

I'm trying to help my son get his old 93 4X2 off the ground. He just installed a set of soft 8s with 31X10.5 tires and he needs to get the nose up a bit at least. I know the deal in the rear from surfing around, a AAL or shackle is easy.

It is the front I'm more concerned with.

Is a set of F150 front coils an option? 3-3/4" lift sounds good, does it even apply to a 4X2? What year springs would I need to find?

I see the cam style camber adjusters are mandatory on any suspension lift up front, will the typical ones correct a lift that big? Will anything else need changing, steering components, brake lines, etc.

He would like a 3" lift up front and another inch out back. Does that even exist, 3" coil lifts? I know guys stack coil lifts on Jeeps, is that even an option? How necessary are the coil retainers on the bottom, my Jeep doesn't have anything like this under the coils, can they flex far enough to pop out?

A pair of 2" coil lifts seems easiest, add the lower spring retainer extenders and again the cam adjusters with a new alignment. Not as much as he hoped to lift but if its all there is, anything else? Am I missing something here?

Thanks! Jim

I see them back to around 98, any good places of brands to look for with a 1993? Thank you. Jim

there is no such thing as a spindle lift for a 1993

lifting on the cheap for a 2/4wd ranger

http://www.therangerstation.com/Maga...gOnABudget.htm

get a longer bolt (grade 8) and run a 2" spacer.

leveling coils are a little more expensive

http://cgi.ebay.com/83-97-Ford-Range...item5ae12e90b4

could run those in combo with a 1" spacer.

You saw my f150 question before I deleted it? I fugured they wouldn't work anyway due to the 2.5-3" max lift noted on the other page you directed me to.

Will we still need the cam style adjusters such as

"Ford Ranger alignment eccentric-0-1 3/4 degree ea. 1989-1995" About $42 each side?

If we use those are we still limited to under 3" of lift on our truck?

Thanks, we are closer to a plan now!

me and a buddy got the f150 coils to work with the stock camber bushings on a 4wd. its just going to be alot more difference with the 2wd.

We went with a simple 2" spring puck lift up front and ordered the above alignment kit as our shop can't get it close to aligned as it sits with stock adjusters. Problem is the adjusters are backordered and I can't find anyone who can tell me if these will even work or where we can get them. Anyone know of a solution to get a 2" lifted 4x2 aligned? Thanks.

Thanks, we went to a big spring/alignment specialist as they stock all the correct parts and can do it easily. Hopefully in an hour or two we will be done! Thanks to everyone!
