thing's gonna ride like a dump truck with that engine in there though just forwarning you. They're stiffer than hell. That's why I opted out of it for my truck.

Take the front sway bar out and it helps ride a good bit

Jeep XJ lift springs work better in my opinion. Softer for a better ride and more flex.

Re: Installing F150 coils what size lift shock do I buy
I put exploder coils in my plow truck, altho not f-150 springs, they came out of the v8 exploder, so I would think they are close to the same specs as far as weight handling as the f-150. My truck rides great, even with the plow off it rides very well. Just saying, I dont think it will ride like you have a solid block connecting the axle to the frame

Do you mean stock springs for an XJ? Or aftermarket springs for an XJ?
I'm planning the same lift as this guy so I'm stalking his 2 threads I want details not just "some springs" lol
Wait, so with a 4x4, does this mean that we need to buy custom drive shafts too? Wouldn't 3"-4" of lift be too long for the stock fwd drive shaft?

Re: Installing F150 coils what size lift shock do I buy
be very careful with XJ lift springs a set that lifts my jeep 3" lowered the front of the ranger i have been talking about. i am currently running a higher rated set of 6" coils on my SAS'd '05 and it is not a 6" lift they give closer to 3.5" vs a 6" EB coil giving 6"+

That's because of the 1.5 ratio of the beams and the XJ springs being softer.
