Default Stock shocks are bottoming out

I have a 2003 ford ranger xlt 4x4 with 3" body lift, torsion bars cranked, and belltech shackles.

everytime i hit a bump it chatters real bad in the front and back. I still have stock shocks on and im sure that what the culprit is (not enough down travel).

Does anyone have any suggestions on some shocks I should look into?

Or what size?

Thanks!

I would look into the bilstein 5100 series shocks, they are for lifted applications and should help you shock travel issue

as far as size, any suggestions? I dont see an option for different sizes from a stock ranger to a crank t-bar, shackle lifted ranger....Im guessing 2-3 inches longer?

What ever shock you get. Buy ones that are made for lifted trucks. I would also suggest the bilstein 5100 series

if you buy longer shocks, it won't help much. i'm willing to bet that something will bind with a little more down travel, most likely your ball joints.

CV's will bind before the ball joints on the 4wd front end. Right now your shocks are what is limiting droop, if you go with longer shocks, then your CV's are the limiting factor which is no bueno. Jack your truck up, then take off the shocks and see how much more droop the shock has, or if it lets the truck droop even more.
