Default steering wanders...

ok, well its been a while since i was on here. I have done ALOT of work redoing my front axle due to the previous owner not doing things correctly....with advice from people on here it is finally done, i took it for a test drive the other day and the truck does alot of wandering, side to side, hard to keep straight and kind of scary....it is a 44 in front, i know that i still need new adjustable links for tie rod and drag link....any advice on this?

----------

i should also add that im not sure exactually what year axle it is but there is no sway bar... was told early bronco...is there supposed to be? if so where can i get one?

ok, another question to go along with this....the rear end is a 9 inch set up with coils also....i cant seem to find any trucks lifted like this...wondering if the rear setup is what is causing the swaying and wandering....does anyone have a rear suspension like this?

Is that a 2 link and pan bar set up? But to answer yes it can be the coils having coils on all 4 corners and a high COG your going to get body roll. Can you get some better pics of the link and susp set up and post them?

Your rear is what is causing, Ive never seen a rear set up like that. I had to take another look looks like you copied the front end links. I would take your lower links out and run a 4 link there isnt really anything there to stop it from going side to side. Also whats with the crazy shock/ angle on the bars?

From what you said about needing to replace the ends on all of your steering my suggestion would be to replace those first. Sloppy rod ends can cause alot of control issues. A little slop in each joint equals alot of slack in steering. Also not having sway bars can cause the body roll to worsen the sway.

well im happy to say that i didnt copy anything, this is how i got it. im not familiar with 4 link, not that well anyway. is there a way i can redo this to make it better? i saw something on 3 link that used coils...? and as far as the steering links, yes i will be replaceing them with the bulletproof ballistics setup...

Take everything off the rear and start reading up on triangulated 4linking, I am glad though that this wasnt your design, that going to be your easiest and safest way to get the truck on the trail.

What you have now is about the same as having a three link and honestly the two link drag setup you have isn't horrible just not the best for articulation and isn't as strong as a fourlink when it comes to side loading while wheeling.
