torsion key vs. spindle
so im looking at getting a lift to add onto my 3 inch body lift. i dont want to spend too much because i still have to buy tires and rims. whats the difference if a torsion key will say itll lift the front of my truck "2-3 inches" and a spindle says the same thing. i just wanna know if there will be any height or ride difference. also, hopefully with the 3 inch body lift and 3 inch torsion key or spindle lift and 2 inch block or add a leaf, does anybody have a picture of a truck with 33s or 34s or 35s with this lift?
thanks
ps im looking at this,it says 4wd but i dont understand why i cant put it on my 2wd

Re: torsion key vs. spindle
dont get keys, They suck. Spindles are where its at. They run more but they wont break things like keys do.

3" keys vs 3" spindle
What's the difference between a 3 inch torsion key and a 3 inch spindle lift? Height wise

Dont get keys, bad business.
Spinflr lift is the best bet.

Re: torsion key vs spindle lift
All three of your same question threads that you've posted have been merged into one. Please stop making the same thread over and over, thank you.
And basically as the user above you said, aftermarket keys are no good.

Re: torsion key vs. spindle
3 inches is 3 inches, A spindle lift just replaces your stock spindles for longer ones. And that gives you 3 inches of lift. Keys will also give you 3 in of lift but will not work as well. Too many problems.

I've asked it in several threads, haven't got one single answer yet.
Why are torsion keys back? Some like the oem and summit's are one piece, summit's are even supposed to handle more than oem.
Hell, older rangers had 2 inch higher on their keys (from what i read here), so how would it be bad to swap or crank?
The only thing i was warned about were my shocks, because of the difference in travel it would cause, not the sagging, wihch to everyone i asked, was a myth.

Re: torsion key vs. spindle
Torsion keys were out parts like hubs and lower ball joints very quickly were spindle do not. They also reduce the amount of dropout your suspension has which sucks.

This is true. There is a sticky thread about it here:
Torsion Lift Keys ???
Sagging is not a myth.

I have guys that did it that say it's bullshit, and people on here that say they heard about it.
Anything that could give me more information on this?
No theories please.

It occurs over a period of time so there's no way people who "did" it can accurately say it's 100% false. As by what timeline can they use to explain that no timeline is accurate?
Materials fatigue over time, and the fatigue is increased when the stress is increased, here's a Wikipedia link that puts the science of it in plain English:

Ok
So what is the lifetime of torsion bars? How much are you taking off when you aren't cranking them, using pre keys versus the time you take off cranking them. Is the reduced lifetime in direct correlation to the cranking, or could it implicate other factors like harder driving offroad once the truck got more clearance?
Lifetime is a very relative term, to me it could mean 80 years, to a dog, 15.
And since i don't plan to keep the truck for 40 years, should i really care?

That's like asking what is the lifetime of a car shock. There are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy to many variables to even try to estimate an answer for all of that. Depends on what kind, how you use it, what you do to it, etc.
I can tell you that there are numerous Ranger owners who buy replacement torsion bars to replace their sagging ones, as well as numerous Ranger owners who go the whole time with the stock torsion bars. I have no idea which category you will fall under for as I said, there are just way to many variables.
The point is, the people who allegedly told you it's all "bullshit" are wrong. It's very real.
