Default Re: Body Lift 3 Tech Info Extravaganza

Hey guys I've been searching but can't find answer to my question. I have a 2011 sport and my wife got me a body lift for Xmas. She got me the summit kit but the box says 1998-2000 they told her it would work but I don't think it will. Can I make this kit work? I don't mind a little fab work but nothing to crazy if not I'll just send it back. Thanks for the info.

Soooooo I guess you didn't notice part of the 1st post in this thread? lol

It says the following: The Summit Kit is listed as 98-00 it will work on all 98+ trucks.

Worst case, (if I remember correctly) all that is needed is a fuel filler & breather hose 'extension' & a couple hose clamps.

In addition to what Logan said, you do have 8 or 10 bed bolts compared to 08 and older trucks. So you may have to contact Performance Accessories to buy additional bed blocks, bolts, and washers. But you can get away with using the 6 older trucks use or the 8 supplied in the kit.

I do not remember the precise number of bed bolts 09+ trucks have, but that's easily solved by using your eyes aimed at your bed floor.

I thought the newer trucks had 2 less bolts...
I had 6 in my bed, 4 in the cab, 2 up by the radiator.
Thats 12. And my body lift kit still had extra blocks and bolts.

I have 2 extra 3 inch blocks I'll sell you cheep. I don't have the right size bolts to match but you can get them at a local store and spend way less than what pa wants. They are expensive.

Had extra for the long beds that's why.

Newer trucks have more.

Technically yes. But the kit does come with 2 extra for long beds. So use those. Worst case the bolts won't be the right length and you might have to buy 2 bolts the blocks will work.

It's always been 6 bolts for the bed since the beginning of the ranger. Why in hell they went to eight is beyond me it wasn't needed

I was wondering why there were 10 in mine. Seems kinda overkill but didn't ford start sayin a few years ago "you could pick up a ford truck by the bed because of the amount of bolts" or something stupid? I seem to remember that for the f-150 ads on tv.
