Got it...pain in the ass to get it off....but once I did I saw that all I was doing was clearing the threads...so the bolt could slide right through instead of screwing it on

Now I'm thinking about doing a 3" body lift to my 01' xlt...

I keep reading different info? The directions on some kits say I have to undo the brake lines in the engine bay and various other things. By lifting the body 3" how is everything not stretched as far as cables, hard lines...etc. I'm not understanding because certain thing looking in the engine compartment look to be exact now meaning there is no play at all if things were to raise up in height??

Doesn't appear to be a super hard install just a lot of tiedous crap it seems like but can someone post actual before and after pictures of the side shots of their trucks with a body lift by chance?

Thanks,
-Nigel

The brake lines you unclip them while lifting just to be sure. Then rebend if needed and attach them. Everything has enough slack in it to be lifted just fine. The batter cable is the the only thing I have ever really had to fliddle with. You trace them down a little and undo a tie clip or 2 and it's all good

As far as safety is concerned is having the body and bed up 3" on blocks a concern? I only ask because everything I've read says to do a suspension lift rather than a body lift. I have the factory older style running boards that would probably hide some of the frame rails... Does anything else need to be done other than the rear gap guards

Thanks,
-Nigel

Its only a concern if u plan on jumping/launching your truck in the air....
Ive had my lift on for 2 or so years with no issues.
Body lift $159.
Suspension lift $2000.

The body lift is fine and everything comes with the kit to make wires longer (Only a couple of grounds if I remember correctly) except for battery cables which I would extend BEFORE you do the lift.
