Exclamation problem that i really need help with

so i went to install my 3 inch body lift today, and got the part in the instructions that say i need to loosen or remove the bed bolts.

heres the problem

i went and got a line-x bed liner a little while ago, and they sprayed over all of my bed bolts.

is there any way i can remove the bed liner around the bolts to get them out?

any help with this at all would be really appreciated

you can try cutting around the lining with a sharp utility knife, and try to gouge out as much of the lining as you can... but really it's just going to be a pain in the ass to remove them.

yeah id make them explain their laziness. Thats kind of rediculous. Not only is it a bitch i bet to cut the liner, but you cant impact them out you pretty much have to start them by hand and getting the torx hole hollowed enough to ensure good grip on those bastards will be hard.

im gunna take it back to them and tell them to get the bolts free at all costs, and if i need a new bed liner i better not be paying for it

they said to get them out, they would have to grind down the liner around the bolts, then torch the rest of the liner away around the bottom of the bolts. they said torching it has a lot of risk of making my bed weak around the bolts which then causes the risk of my body lift failing. i told them i didnt want that. so since i cant use my body lift now, they bought it off me for exactly what i paid for it.

all in all, it didnt go as planned, but it wasnt a total disappointment

That still sucks. I think they should remove the bolts. They could do some touch up before or after the bl if put on with the new bolts. Well at least your not out a bl.

ummmm just drill out the head, and cut around the bolt, then lift the bed off and get a pipe wrench to crank out the bolts.

i dont know man, but they said thats what they needed to do. if i took it anywhere else to try and get the bolts out any other way, it would have voided the warranty

i said that too, but with the risk of it damaging my bed, it scares me just a little. im not a risk reward guy at all :P and ya, im pretty happy about not having to lose money on the bl

i would do that if it didnt void the warranty. its no big deal though, i just have to save for a suspension lift now
