Default 1991 4x4 xlt BL SL or..

I've been lookin' around on the forum and I'm really not sure what all does and doesn't apply to my generation of ranger. it'S a '91.

I'd like to be able to fit 33x12.5 or 32x11 w/prolly like a 3-4 cm -offset; without too much rubbing.
3 inch bl or sl? A combination of the two? Different wheels? New shifter? Steering extension?

I don't have tbars right? Sorry i'm a lift retard. lol. Thank you very much, all

hell yeah double lift that whore. youll need a shift extension but that will usually come with the BL. And youll want to run bigger tires.

You'll need to do at least a 3 inch suspension with a 3 inch body lift to fit 33's under your truck. A 6 inch suspension on it's own will fit them, and if you do a 6 with the BL, you can fit 35's.

^^ no a 3 inch bl can easily fit 33s (just not wide 33s, maybe 33x10.5)

----------

see ben10s truck, 33s w a bl t bars cranked and an aal in the back (but he doesnt need it)

They fit different on the older trucks. Remember he has 20 years of suspension sag to deal with as well. Just set 31s up on my buddies 93 and they rubbed stock ride height. F150 coils in front and stacked leafs+aal in the rear and he clears for 33s but it will be close.

Yes, a 3 inch BL can fit 33's on 98-now trucks, but on the older models that sat lower out of the factory, you gotta do a little more work. For one, the older ones have a TTB front suspension, not a torsion bar setup, so there are no t-bars to crank.

There are a lot of different ways to fit 33's on the gen 1's, 2's, and 3's, but for a basic setup a 3 inch BL and 3 inch SL will work.

Alrighty. Thanks everybody.
6 inches of lift seems like alot? My tires wouldn't look goofy compared to the height of the truck would they? haha.

I've been lookin around, what about a setup like this:
-2 inch body lift
-1 inch coil spring spacer
-1.5 inch add a leaf in the rear

And run like 32x11.5?

Put them in a 1993 recently grabbed a set of $15 autozone red f150 shocks to go with them. Rides good with the sway bar removed. Make sure if you go that way to rent a coil compressor from autozone or whatever. They were good for 4-5" lift in the front using junkyard coils will be good for more on a less worn set. The same truck we stacked my old leaf pack which was the big 3+1 overload pack in a 05 ranger along with an aal with his stock 2+1 overload pack in the 93. That was good for around 5" it looks like the normal factory rake on it. You could have it level using a 1" spacer in the front but over that you will not be able to get it aligned.

Shouldn't have any problems with a setup like that, but you might have to do a small amount of trimming on the inner fenders (MAYBE, but I highly doubt it). And your tires wouldn't look goofy at all. Here's a picture of our gen Ranger with a 6 inch and 33's:

Oh sweet. That looks pretty good. Alrighty.
Any recommendations on a 6" SL then? Ha. I've seen a few but is there any brand I should avoid?
Thanks again for the help everybody.

Personally, I would run a 3 inch body lift with an AAL in the rear and some leveling coils up front. If you wanna spend the 500 bucks, go all out with a susp. lift from rough country and run 33s with a 4 inch lift. they are well worth the money
