Default Homemade Lift Shackles?

I was wondering has anyone ever made their own rear axle lift shackles for their ranger? If so would 3/8" think flat stock be thick enough to make the sides of the lift shackles? If so, could you post pics of ur homemade lift shackles?

My buddy makes them everyday, he cuts the shackle in half and welds a peice of steel in between how ever long people want them.

Would a 2.5" shackle be to much? only half inch of lift? that wouldn't change the drive shaft angle to much would it?

I made 7" brackets from 1/4" steel. It did not lift the truck by 7", but I think a good 2" lift over the stock. I think stock shackles are 4" in total length. It seemed tho that the longer shackle just moved rear wards more. But mine were rotted out along with the brackets, so it worked for me.

If you wanna lift your 2wd get 2' or 3' lowering blocks from Advanced and put those bad puppies in between the axle and leafs and it will raise the rear. Then also at Advanced get spring boosters and wrap them around your front springs and you will be nice and level all for under 70 bucks no fabrication required. Redneck style. Thats what I did with my old Ranger and it was a beast. (Its the one in my picture). Drove it like that for 2 years no problem.

I just went to my local AutoZone and bought the lowering shackles for a fullsize for $35 and that got me an extra couple inches in the rear. They bolt right in and are around 3" longer than your stock shackle.
