Default torsion crank

so if i crank my torsion bars, will my truck drive like shit and be rough. my bud said if i want to crank them and drive nice, i would need torsion keys and i did not fully grasp the concept. Can someone explain?
2004 4.0 4x4 5spd xlt with 175k 4.10 axles, extended cab, cranked t-bars (not maxed), painted black interior, 32x11.5x15 bfg a/t and procomp steel rims

dont get keys....if u crank ur t bars to the max the ride will be really shitty and ur bearings will get shot pretty quickly

This isn't completely true. He's right, it will be rougher but i've had mine cranked for 2 yrs now and at first it was a little bit rougher off road going fast but thats it. Then it was recommended i got 2" longer shocks, so i did and now it has nice handling on road and a nice plush/controlled feeling off road.. it made a world of difference but even without, it wasn't as bad as one would think. But yes your front end joints will wear out quicker. Stay away from keys too! all they let you do is turn your torsion bars past factory spec, creating many more problems than you can imagine. The stock ones are there for a reason, adjustment and you can still squeeze 2" out of them and maintain almost stock ride. just my 2 cents.. im sure someone else will chime in but this is my own opinion.
