well i took both rear wheels off, loosened up the ubolts, dropped the axle alittle bit so there zero weight on the leafs. i can move them around real easy but still cant get the damn top bolts out. I even removed the bolt that holds the front of the leafs to the frame and still nothing..

ON a positive note while i was frustrated i did the blinker mod to my truck, that only took 5 min. lol

I have tried this numerous times, and it will just sit there and spin, which is wierd because if its spinning you would think i could get it out pretty easy but no. I took a pry bar for chaning tires and put it behind the head of the bolt to put some pressure (pulling it out) and then used the ratchet too and nothing yet.

im not giving up on this till i get it done lol

made a little progress ive got one upper bolt about 1/4 the way out and the other close to half way. It seems like the bolts have seized tight to the inner sleeve which is seized to the bushing, Ill turn the the bolt 180* and the bushing must be twisting with the bolt and then it will go back about 90*

You might have managed to complete the task, yes, but Im telling you, you save so much time with an air chisel. I used to do it your way...Now I dont have to sweat, bleed, and swear as much when I do change this shit out. If you've got some other snide comment, please do us all a favor and keep it to yourself.

^Not cutting on ya or anything but im not real sure how an air chisel would have helped with getting the top bolt out. At least on my truck there is no room to get the air chisel behind the head of the bolt to help pound it out

Cut the head of the bolt out, push it half way through, cut it again, but on the other side, and push through completely

OH i got ya now.

I finally got the shackles off, I had to use the acetylene torch to cut the bolt out on the drivers side because i had it out far enough where the threads were inside the shackle. BUt on the passenger side i had to cut the stock shackle with the torch because the bolt was so seized tight

You have to take the hitch off the truck.

rear shackles are done. tires are put back on. its right at 2'' higher than stock. I am now gonna crank on the Tbars a little bit. Not going to go to nuts because i am getting new rims and tires mid april so i dont want the alignment to be to bad

Even if i did take the hitch off. there is still a L bracket that would have been in the way, The L bracket is part of the bumper support. If the bolts wouldnt have been so seized in place i would have been alright. but A 2 minute drive to the hardware store i bought 2 new bolts and im G2G now

First 3 pictures are from the drivers side, as you can see I had to grind the bolt off. after doing so i was able to drop the shackle down. I put the stock shackle in a vice and tried to pound out the bolt and it definitely wasnt coming out. The bottom 3 pictures show the Drivers side shackle and the bolt only out about 3/4 inch and will not come out anymore SO out came the torch cut the shackle and drop comes the shackle.

Hard part is over. took me about 20 minutes to put the new shackles on. and complete

----------

1st picture is new drivers side shackle on.
2nd- truck back on the ground 2" of lift
3rd- Tbars cranked a little. there is a 1.5" difference between front and back
Ive got 37 inches to rear wheel well and 35.5" in the front, thats with stock 245/65/16 tires

----------

Im hoping now that when i have the bed/ladder rack loaded or pulling a trailor it will still sit level

well i am pretty sure that i wrecked my leaf springs within the last 2 days. 1400lbs of concrete on Wednesday and 1200 lbs of bagged mortar today. Leafs have a very slight arch to them but there pretty much straight. Chevy springs are now needed not wanted lol
