Default 04 xlt 4x4 lift question

Well first post on the site here it goes. I have a 2004 xlt 4x4 that is bone stock expect the truck cap. I am wondering what i can do to lift it alittle bit. With the Contractor cap i have on it now it sits real level so by just cranking Tbars wouldnt work. It has stock blocks on the rear and i believe there 2 inch could be 3 inch. Would a AAL and a torsion crank give it some lift. And would the aal also help when i got the cap full of ladders and planks? payload wise?

----------

Ive also seen places that sell 4 inch lift blocks could i take out stock blocks put the 4 inch in and crank tbars or is the whole idea of putting different blocks in a bad thing

AAL would raise the rear and help with a heavy payload. You could also consider the Belltech chevy drop shackles to raise the rear and then crank the bars.

I would also suggest the aal and drop shackle the crank the t-bars so it doesn't nose dive.

Ill look into the shackle and aal, question about the shackle does it matter what year the shackles are for and are most of those shackles have the option for either 2 or 3" drop which i guess would be 2-3'' lift on the ranger?

reason i dont want a body lift is because when i am either pulling work trailor or have the ladder rack full of ladders/ planks or have the bed full of misc. stuff it squats a little to the rear. and the body lift will still do this but just a couple inches higher. Hence the reason i am looking at the aal and maybe the drop shackle as well.

Ive found some aal's for around 50.00 and the shackles are around 60.00, Although iam not sure if there is a certain year i should be looking for with the shackles and how much of a drop the shackles should have.

Im hoping that by doing the aal , shackles and cranking the Tbars i can maintain a some what level stance with the added capacity in the rear so it doesn't want to sag

----------

will these one do the job, i seen people were talking about the 6400 series
http://www.amazon.com/Belltech-6400-Shackle-Kit/dp/B000CIKAPA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1298740624&sr=8-1
----------

Last question, If i do the aal and shackle. Will i be able to turn the Tbars enough to make it somewhat level?

Yes it will look good and some what level. You may wanna consider up grading to #1 torsion bars. They are stronger so you wont get sag over time.

what am i gaining by using the chevy drop shackles instead of 1-2 inch lift shackles that are advertised for my model truck. Or is there no difference between the two?

Everyone that lifts the rear always use the chevy drop ones. I have never seen the other ones.
I know the chevy ones they have 3 slots so you can adjust the height.
