A set of good 33s/32s and a little crank on the t-bars I think you would be fine on light trails maybe look into upgrading the gears and the rearend down the road.

LOL

Well looking online it say your stock tires where 235/75/15 not sure how true that is I know that what came on mine stock its a 00 XLT steppie. The tires you have on it now are around a 30.5in tire I would say the prev owner may have cranked a little bit to level the truck out its common.

Not to Hijack the thread but, i see rough country has a suspension lift for like 500 bucks for 1996ish rangers. Going by what you guys said price wise for suspension lifts, that's pretty cheap. Do you think there is something missing?

if its for a 1996 thats why its cheaper. the 1996 rangers have a different front suspension (TTB) and they are cheaper to lift than the 98+ torsion bar IFS suspension.

Colorados just sit low my stock truck towered over my buddies z71 colorado. If your not doing anything crazy a torsion bar crank and some 285/75s ot 33s would put you pretty good offroad

I know for a fact the z71 colorados arnt that high. I had a stock 2000 ZR2 S10 with 31X1050 BFGs and it is way higher then the Z71s and the previous plain 4X4 S10s.

unless you buy used you are going to spend more than 1,200. Your looking at about 2,000 if you install it yourself and that is not including wheels/tires and regearing.

If you do it right you will probably spend 4,000 when it is all done.
