Re: ideas on max travel spring under lift
Yeah from hole to hole (eye to eye) is your spring width. And yep you can just flip the mount you may have to cut into or bob the bed a bit for clearance you can also look into get long travel shocks for more travel out of the leafs.

Re: ideas on max travel spring under lift
ok so i swapped some 1994 suburban leafs in, however it moved my axle position back about 2-4 inches and now my drive shaft is a little short, is there a new yoke i can get or do i need a new shaft, if so which one?

New shaft take it to your local drive shaft shop and have your existing drive shaft extended or a new shaft made.

Re: ideas on max travel spring under lift
yeah moving the perches worked out fine, a new shaft would have made my wheel in a funny spot under the bed although the longer wheel base would have been nice but, im still looking for a little more lift. also is there anywhere that sells just the shock hoops that run through the bed because i have some normal size shox and some BIG shox and i need something in the middle because the small ones are going to get pulled apart and the big ones are almost fully compressed at sag. but if i just get some towers the big ones will work fine.

Re: ideas on max travel spring under lift
why not make your own are you good with welding? You may be able to call up Camburg and see if they can make some up for you.

Re: ideas on max travel spring under lift
eh im novice and all i have is a basic arc welder.. yeah im going to look on classifieds through other ranger fourms as well.. but when i do decide to get some should i keep the stock shock design and keep one facing forward and one facing the rear? or should i make the hoops for both towards the rear?

Re: ideas on max travel spring under lift
Finally got some suburban leafs in there after i relocated the hangers, now im thinkin of getting that kit but as far as geometry goes how do i know what angle to keep the shock, and i am going to face them both towards the rear.

Re: ideas on max travel spring under lift
It really all depends on how you would like o do it, as long as they are at a angle you should be fine( about 120 deg is what I at time run). You can face them both rear or one rear/ forward.
