Default Body Lift Towing!?

Hope this is the right place to post this thread. So I kno body lifts come with relocation brackets for bumpers but what about the hitch? I've heard ur not supposed to tow after a body lift is that because of a relocation of the hitch? Nebody do a body lift and still tow? I have a 16ft Lund I tow around alot, doesnt weigh much 800-900lbs fully loaded, not sure what the tongue weight is. Any info on this would be great thanks guys.

you cant tow with a bumper ball the hitch stays in the same location and is no issue at all you can tow just fine with a hitch after a body lift. if you want the hitch up higher you will have to cut and reweld the hitch i have done this twice with mine and another truck now and have towed no problems

You dont add steel. Just overlap the hitch after it was cut.

cut the mounting part off.

bolt and re weld it

um um i did mine a little different....

Cut out about 2-2.5" grind the metal to a V so better to butt weld it. I also pressed out the bend in the upper part to allow more room with the lift brackes. then you can use the piece you cut out to weld on the inside to plate it. I dont have a pic of that

so if i do a body lift my hitch will be lower than my bumper? and in order to fix that i have to do some welding? this is the only lift where this is a problem right? add a leaf and suspension lifts do not have this problem?

picture it like this, it will be sitting 3 inches further from where it is now. so if its touching your bumper it will be 3 inches away, if its 3 inches away now it will be 6.

Being 2wd you should just get spindles and do an add a leaf.... WAY better than doing a body lift and will only cost you $300-400
