Default Towers and Daily Commuters with t bars cranked, please answer

Hey guys, i have a 2004 edge ranger, 2wd and i am wanting to crank my torsion bars 2 inches max!

i know that this makes for a stiffer ride but i dont know how stiff?? i would hate to pay for the alignment and end up hating and have to realign once lowering it back...

1. how stiff is the ride? (daily commuter i would hate to crash and die due to it being too stiff)
2. does it affect your towing noticeably?
3. does your back sag even more when fully loaded and towing (biggest concern for me)
4. this is my daily communter, i plan to add 31s hence the worry about the sag in the back.. i dont want the truck to touch my tires when the freeway is not exactly flat, nor do i want it to touch when i flex with the trailer behind me (place where i camp sometimes requires driving onto to rocks before being able to back it up completely)
5. disregard the tread of the tire...how much of an mpg lower am i looking at when going from 29s to 31s?
6. post pics of your trucks with only the t bars cranked
with your truck fully loaded or trailer attached (also post if empty as well just to see)

thank you for taking the time to answer! dont have money to do anything else but i want to decide if i like my t bars cranked before i get the new tires and end up regretting it

----------

credibility explanation would be good too

It wont affect your towing and the front will be level with the back. As far as the back sagging it would if you had a lot of weight.

If you have 4.10 gears in the axle your not gonna notice a loss of MPG's

As far as a stiff ride. It will be noticeable when hiting large bumps. I mean after all it is a truck.

A good set of shocks will take care of it being stiff.

how much is alotta weight? payload is 1260 according to my manual... i would certainly hope it wouldnt be less than that!
and yes thats very true i really dont mind the ride of trucks especially the stiffer ones, i rode in a 2009 silverado and everytime went over a bump or cross a bridge or new connection in the road..it would go over it and then bounce (not the tires just the truck) like 3 or 4 times before smoothing out again...longest 9 hours of my life!

i do have 4.10 axles according to the side of my door

I will have to find the pic of me hauling 3k pounds. Now it was all on a trailer but not pulling the back down.

----------

2880 in scrap trailer weighed about 600 pounds empty.

Stock no t-bar crank. No idea of weight but was more then 4000 pounds.

did you actually tow that trailer in the second pic??? great reference pics! HONESTLY i probably wont tow anything more than my fishing boat loaded with camping stuff and my truck loaded with all the ice chests and stuff BUT whats the point of modding your truck to only do that ya know? like for example i believe that if ur gonna add a hitch onto your truck then regardless of plans for it it should match the trucks capabilities lol which is why i wanted to make sure the torsion bars wont affect it all that much.....ive seen some trucks tow stuff they should tow easy and have such a bad sag its sad...my dads tahoe is like that but he doesnt mind because he is not bottoming out

Here's mine with the t-bar crank. About 1.75 to 2 inches, running 31s:

I don't have any with my 5x8 trailer attached, but it did fine. My wife and I loaded up a bunch of concrete statuary she got from her mother's estate. Had the bed and trailer loaded with a bunch of statues, bird baths, and large planters. Had no issues on the drive home. The back did lower with the extra weight, but never came close to rubbing the tires.

Ya I pulled that camper. About 30 miles. I wouldn't do it again.
Pulling my 5x10 trailer it is like its not there. And the truck is still pretty smooth ride.

I pulled a uhaul trailer one time.. and the trailer was like 15x10 so it was big double axle and i think it weighed 1500 empty. but my truck didnt sag to much with it loaded either.. but i dont have any pictures either... i also loaded alot of sod in the bed of my truck i think it was around like 500 lbs... and i loaded it all at the tailgate. since i only needed to drive like 5 miles to my house it wasnt that bad.. it did sag alot but not that bad but i do have some pics of my truck with factory tires (29's) and then with 31's with no t bar crank oh and i have 3.55 gears in the back

29's the day i bought it

now here it is with 31's
back fender well unloaded

back fender well again unloaded

front pic with brushguard that adds like 70lbs to the front weight

you can run 31's without a t bar crank too if you want i dont rub at all even at full lock, flexing, and big bumps

i wish i was driving the ranger when i did this, i went to work for this lady and my truck was in the shop so i ended up using the chevy cheyenne 2500 that i also drive (not often) and i had to transport 50 something rocks the size of footballs i wouldve loved to see how the ranger wouldve done....i couldnt even begin to guess how much it weighed lol

----------

and yes ive heard of people running 31s just fine but i hate the look of the wheelbase or whatever it is called (inform me please) being too close to the wheel it just looks weird haha your tires look good though!

Here's my truck on 33's, leveled, and there's about 1,500lbs in that trailer:

I rubbed the sway bar a tiny amount at full lock with the factory wheels. With my new wheels though I have no rubbing.
