Question 2WD Lift, where do I start?

I don't know the first thing about lifting my truck. It's a '97 so I'm guessing spindle lift is out of the question. I wanted only about 2 inches, or at least have the front end level with the back. Any suggestions?

Go to Advanced Auto and grab lifting/lowering 3inch blocks. Put them in between the axel and leaf springs for a 3 inch in the rear. In the front grab spring levelers (they lift it) and slide them into your front springs. Overall you will have 3 in the rear and roughly 2.5 front for under 50 buck. Thats what I did and it drives smooth still.

DO NOT put those little spring things that they sell to put in your coils. They make the spring comprese less and if you do happen to flex it enough to pop them out down comes your front end. Go find soils coils from a F-150 and put them in.

They sell all types of coil boosters you some are horrible, I agree and can pop out but there are ones that you wrap around the middle of the spring causing no harm to your springs. By the time you get these rubber boosters in you can barley get them out nevermind them just popping out. I have been muddin with mine in for a year and they have not moved an inch.

But I wanted the front end to be level. Is that half inch noticeable?

Leave the rear be and pick up the F150 springs it will level your truck out or a Daystar kit- PN KF09101BK

Well even though the springs are cheaper I think the leveling kit is much easier. If I level it out ill have to get it realigned right? Which means that I'd have to bend the I-beam I think.

Dont know anything about "bending" your beam but yes after you do the spacers you need a alignment

I was told by a mechanic that the I-Beam may have to be bent just to align the front end. He nay be wrong but I just wanted to know if anyone knew about the front end alignment with the I-Beam.

It looks level, your axel isnt going to bend and your springs arnt going to fall off hah. Mines been like that for a year and my truck rides tip top dont worry......If you do it correctly.
