Generally speaking yes - but what specific suspension lift are you looking at getting?

Also 2wd or 4wd?

If talking 4wd - Superlift makes a different kit for your model year than they do for the pre 2001 setup (knuckles are different).....I believe it has something to do with that PVH setup the older versions have. It's nothing crazy & I believe that can be used across model years with a minor modification to the knuckle.

It is a Superlift 4" one. Mine and the Junk yard truck are both 4.0 xlt 4x4 trucks with torsion bar front ends. Everything I've seen on Superlift says it'd work but i've noticed the 97-98 kits are one number different than 99-2011 kits. But the instructions and parts list are the exact same.

Yeah - they used to use a slightly different knuckle but I think it just has to do with the available vacuum lines on the older versions.

You should be good to go given your installing it on a "newer" truck - you don't need the ports anyway.

Is $1,000 too much money for the 2.5" lift kit from fab tech? It includes the front and rear parts needed. Here's the link:

http://4wheelonline.com/Fabtech2WDRa....175215.645137

Is that everything I need?

Thanks!

Always can do a performance accessories body lift for $200 and 8-12 hours of work! I did mine the other day, and am very happy

What about a 2011 XLT Extended 2WD. Is there a 3" suspension lift kit for it? The sites I've looked at stop at 2010. Went to a shop here in town he looked up Fabtech and they were showing keys. My truck don't have keys. This is getting hard for someone that don't know what he's doing lol.

Short Answer = No.

Long(er) answer: They never 'officially' made anything for 1998 or newer 4WD Rangers. A few prototypes existed if I recall (similar to the RCD version) - but nothing else that I know of. Have you come across a Skyjacker true suspension lift for 98+ 4WD Rangers?

Copy & Paste time:

Since you are 4WD - you only have the following general options when it comes to lifting your truck:
  1. 1"-2" Torsion Bar Crank = Cost is only an alignment.
  2. Pre-Key Mod (If 2008+ Ranger) = Gets you to the height of a pre-08 stock 4WD Ranger. Then you can perform option #1 from there.
  3. 2" Leveling Kit (AKA - Torsion Keys) = Waste of money, same as a torsion bar crank - see option #1 above.
  4. 3" Body Lift (Performance Accessories or Summit Brand) = +/- $200 + Install
  5. 4" Superlift = +/- $2,000 + Install
  6. Custom SAS = "Let your imagination take control of your wallet"
Pick your poison.

Rear is the simple part....shackles, AAL or new leaf springs are the "popular" choices.
