Default Lift Questions

Hey guys im new to this site and i joined to find information that isnt so vague!
i have an 04 edge, 2wd, 3.0L STOCK

i want to lift my truck in however way possible! so i have a few questions.....

1. what are the lift options? like what can i do?
2. to allow for bigger wheels ive heard u must lift the front but you can leave the rear alone..doesnt this make the truck look weird and you end up looking upward somewhat??
3. this is not a work truck but i do alot of towing and i DO NOT want to end up like those trucks that end up bottomed out (empty) because they damaged something
what kind of lift is good for this, how much is too much?
4. im very happy with what my truck can do right now, but i would love for it to do more! with a 2wd that makes things slightly harder...is it worth it lifting the truck say 4 inches? i have to think about several things, constantly mountain biking so i put my bikes over the tailgate and if i lift it it makes it even harder, is loading the truck really that much harder? in general?
5. what is the mpg change like when you lift it?
6. besides from the added weight to the truck, does lifting it affect towing effectiveness?

thank you guys!

also in terms in ground clearance, how much higher is the stock edge compared to the stock ranger?

1. what are the lift options? like what can i do? 32's crank the T-bars 33's 3in body lift easy and cheap
2. to allow for bigger wheels ive heard u must lift the front but you can leave the rear alone..doesnt this make the truck look weird and you end up looking upward somewhat?? Not really do to the ranger lean lower in the front then the rear
3. this is not a work truck but i do alot of towing and i DO NOT want to end up like those trucks that end up bottomed out (empty) because they damaged something
what kind of lift is good for this, how much is too much?Depends on what tire you want to run, running gear, how much you tow, what type of springs and shocks you have
4. im very happy with what my truck can do right now, but i would love for it to do more! with a 2wd that makes things slightly harder...is it worth it lifting the truck say 4 inches? i have to think about several things, constantly mountain biking so i put my bikes over the tailgate and if i lift it it makes it even harder, is loading the truck really that much harder? in general? Lift it and get some better tires gear the rear end and put a L/S or something in it you can do small trails and such
5. what is the mpg change like when you lift it? maybe 1-3 diff
6. besides from the added weight to the truck, does lifting it affect towing effectiveness?not really depends on your rear gears and tire size

thank you guys!

what is l/s? are there torsion bars in 2wds? spindle lifts...only for the front? i want to keep that front end lower than the back like it is now for towing and load purpses

still learning tire sizes, how does it work? is it in inches? bottom to top? how do i translate say...P235/75R15 105S what is that in terms of the lingo such as 33s?

will cranking the torsion bars, (still learning, basically dont even know what they are) affect the ride in a bad way? such as each bump being absrbed a little bit? my truck is my daily driver and i dont want my gf complaining that it rides rough haha \

getting limited slip means doing some welding doesnt it?

----------

seems like im going to end up using add a leaf in the future for both the rear and the front or maybe more leafs in the back (to increase load capacity) and a block in front?

Naw it doesnt mess with the ride much I never could tell, no getting L/S doesnt mean wlding though since you dont know much I would take it to a shop o have it installed if you get one. no block and no AAL in the front

You do have torsion bars in your truck. If you crank them you can fit 31" tires easily with no lift.

Bodylift is hundreds of dollars cheaper then a suspension lift.
