Default 3" spindle + 3" body lift on 33's?

Hey y'all

You can see in my avatar my '09 2wd Sport is a squat little thing. My plan when the warranty ends is to lift... originally I was going to do the prekey mod/Chevy shackles and the spindle lift on 32's (tire size that Fabtech recommends). However pricing stuff out already, in my area the prekeys and shackles would cost just about the same as ordering a body lift kit!

So now I'm considering double lifting, as I'd be getting more lift for my money and rolling on 33's so my tires wouldn't look wimpy under all that space (though Fabtech told me any tire size over what they spec = your own liability).

I do love the look of 35's, however tires are insanely expensive in Canada compared to the US and I can't justify the cost of all that rubber cutting into my lifting fund, plus I'd be afraid of too much stress on the spindles at that size.

Does anyone else have a spindle + BL setup on 33's or would it just look totally retarded? I couldn't find pictures of anyone else on here with one. My truck will still be my daily driver and also see light offroad use (as in driving around farm fields, crap roads, and some semi-groomed/regularly used trails, nothing extreme like rocks or serious muddin')

Thanks for any help or opinions!

You could run 33s on just a spindle lift. Alon has 33s on his IIRC. I ran 32's with just a t-bar crank. But my t-bars had a different index on the keys so I could crank mine higher than yours.

I ran 33's on my stock ranger. You could definitely do it on a 3 inch spindle. I have a 3 inch body and 2 inch suspension lift on 33's now. As soon as I gain access to my friends drill press, I'll have a 3 inch spindle lift.

Yes I want to know if it'll look really stupid with that much lift on 33's... I don't like the stuffed in the wheel well look but I don't want the tires to look small under that much height either.

I also forgot to say in my original post too, I know there's a lot of misinformation around about BL's, but do they last the life of the vehicle (my truck is 2 and I plan on keeping it for as long as it'll go), how much weight can I still put in the bed without damage (I haul dirt once a year and in winter I have a Shurtrax with 300 pounds of water in it for traction), and will I have to have someone fab something to raise my grille guard with the body?

Thanks again!

Look at my truck, i have a 3 inch body lift with 33's I really want a double lift... will be doing when i get some more cash flow...

Also about your grille guard, ya it wont work so you can just ship it to me and i will get rid of it for you... LOL J/K
I think all you will have to do is cut 3" out of the mounting bracket on the grille guard and weld it back together... but seriously, lol i want that guard

IMHO 35s look a lot better but here are some pics for your viewing pleasure...

double lifted on 33s

Here's basically the same truck with 35s:

Thanks for the photos Tom, it's just what I wanted to see ... you're right, the double lift looks better on 35's, so I'll just do a spindle lift instead and save myself some money.

I started off with adding aftermarket keys and then a 3" body lift and was riding on 35's. You can check out my pics to see what it looks like.. I just recently added a 4" Superlift..so I have about 10" of lift all together and the 35's still look preportioned with the rest of the truck. And it rides great.
