'99 XLT lift
What are some of the good brands of lifts to go with? I am totally new to lifting and am really interested in it. I'm only talking about maybe a 2-4 inch lift, and for pretty cheap. thanks guys

crank torsion bars(about 1"-2") if you have em and its free, and slap a body lift on(2" or 3" available)

The body lift is going to be the cheapest option to get the job done.

my truck is a 4x4, and I just want something not much more than 2 or 3 inches, just to get a little higher up for off road...and will a body lift affect the gas mileage?

yes it will. But minimal, your tires will really determine this if your gettin serious about the build, rough county has 4 and 6 in. lifts 2 and 3 is hard to find unless you do a body lift or just leveling springs which are great to.

Oh and your cost for the level springs should only be about 110 to 140 male deer.

I have run ino pain in the butt situations like shifter linkage and radiator/fan issues wit body lifts although sometimes it is fast sweet and cheap.

if your only going for looks and verry light off road driving i'd go fo rthe 3" body lift and crank up the bars. cheapest and quickest. unless you plan to do alot of 4 wheeling that's what i'd do..

well i wouldn't buy rough country... there's a reason why they are cheap! i know, my truck has one, i broke a bracket not too long after owning it, but they are cheap.

you should contact them and let them know if they have faulty parts. they will prolly send a new one i have used them for over 6 years on my full size trucks and not run into that yet. My fav is my 79 150 on 44's w 5.13's and 514 cid. only took 4 in. sus. and 3in. body

oh i did, i got a new bracket. but the problem isn't with a broken bracket, cause i welded up the old one, and am keeping the new one as a spare but the problem is the design, you can't get maximum flex with it, not without punching a hole in the front diff(like what happened to me). I plan on getting a skyjacker kit, and goin that route cause i found a front pumpkin with 4.56 gears and locker for 370. figure now i can just keeping the TTB haha. its the drop bracket for hte driver side beam is the major design flaw, if they fixed that part of the lift, it'd be a much better lift.
