Default add leafs to a sprung under axle

i have a 94 and i just swapped a 99 explorer axle into it, now it is a sprung under set up in the rear but i feel it does not have enough clearence in the rear as the rubber bumper pads hit the axle when compressed. i want to add more leafs to seperate the axle from the rubber bumpers a little further. someone said i can just use chevy mounts? whats a cheap but effective way to do this, i know i can go out and buy 7 deavers but i dont have that kind of money. are there some f150 parts i can use or something because i know i have a f150 front end(ibeams) giving me the lift in the front. i know its not the most aggressive setup but i am also trying to keep it a daily driver.

any ideas as to what leafs and shocks i can use?

why dont you just weld on some axle perches to the top of the axle instead so you can go back to spring over?

you can also get chevy shackles (beltech), theyll give you like 1.5" of lift.

haha ok guys let me explain....

my truck is a baja style or prerunner style daily driver. the sprund under axle(99 explorer) allows for better performance handeling and stopping. also comes with 4.10 gears to compensate for my 31" tires. it was sprung over at first but since its a 4x2 i dont need that lift in the rear. however the rubber bumpers on the frame are awefully close to the axle i just swapped in and i would like to add some space inbetween. Eventually i will make larger shock hoops through the bed and add leafs and shocks.

what chevy leafs will work? is there another way to achieve a little more than 1.5" of lift, it doesnt have to raise the truck just be able to fall when i jump it or hit woops.

Well, if you weld the perches on top of the axle and go back to spring over then it will be very close to stock, unless you use the explorer leafs, as they can give you some lift. As it sits sprung under, it is going to be lower than stock.

no i am not trying to return to sprung over! i am trying to get more travel in the rear and soften it up, as it sits right now i have no shocks because i went from sprung ove,r with blocks, and aal lift, and body lift so the shocks barely fit in the new mount locations when they are fully compressed leaving the rear end stiff 0" travel. with the right shocks about 22.5" long, ill be able to get about 6" or so. however i want to go further than that. ill add pix soon

Ok, well you asked how to get a little lift and everybody just told you the easiest way...just trying to get out the point that you have quite a bit of lift to go to get back to stock from the expo axles I've seen put on Rangers while staying sprung under.

just make some shackles...

If you want to stay spring under and get more travel go get some chevy (or ford) 64in springs and weld new perches on the frame should level it back to stock and add travel.

Not sure about for but on the chevy's you can find them on 3/4 rear check 80's models. Might try the same for the ford alsoI would find a JY take a tape and measure eye to eye.

----------

Here you go narrowed it abit for you 88-98 C/K Series

Yeah you can pull from whatever check the 4x4s first and you can grab the shackel good for 1-2 in of lift on the Ranger I beleive.
