Does my truck have a lift kit on it??

OK,

I have a 2006 Ranger Sport 2 door. I bought the truck in late 2007 used. Over time I have noticed that my truck sits up higher than other Ranger Sports that I have seen here in town. (Sometimes its hard to tell by pics online).

I was wondering.....does my truck have a lift kit on it installed by the previous owner??? Or is it just the tires that make it look taller?? How can I look under the truck and tell if it does or not????

doesnt look like it. looks like you have really small tires and the torsion bars have been cranked. Throw some 31x10.50s BFGs on those rims

For some reason, the single cab short bed Ranger Edge/Sports always seem to sit higher than the Supercab Edge/Sports.

If your truck is a 4x4, that may be the difference. Ford says that the 4x2 Edge/Sport sits as high as a 4x4 Ranger, but I throw the bs flag on that. But the 4x2 Edge/Sport is definitely taller than an XL/XLT Ranger 4x2.

I've noticed that as well. I thought it was just an optical illusion at first..but it really does seem that single cabs sit higher up.

I think Ill follow dixie's advice and throw some bigger tires on it. ;-)

Been calling around for tires this morning. I'm sure you guys know already...but DAYUM. Tires are expensive as hell. LOL

ha ha yes they are. just be happy youre not dealing with 18" rims. cost me about $900 to put stock size AT tires on my F-150 and that was after a $250 "friends and family" discount

it looks like it may have been bodylifted by the tilted angle of the back bumper (relocation brackets have a tendency of doing that) and by the way that the front bumper is not lined up with the fender flairs (again, typical of relocation brackets used in a body lift)

look for large black pucks roughly 3 inches tall between your frame and body.

mine sits high also even before i maxed out my T-bars. I know its not a sport but there about the same.

Yeah Iv'e noticed that too, single cabs sit a tad higher than your supercab. It looks like the the recent owner has cranked the T-Bars too. Like everybody is saying lol, put some meatier tires on there!

tires are expensive but worth it haha. patrick is right though.. your lucky with the smaller rim size.. if you get 17s, 18s, 20s, etc tires are just ridiculous.. your doin good if you get them for under $1,000...

which is pitiful because you are actually paying for less material if you think about it. bigger diamer wheel means less material. its a a money game and its stupid

Looks stock to me with the usual rake from the factory. The reg cab weighs less so that would probably be why it looks taller than a supercab.

i think it has alot to do with 15" rims being alot more common and they have been making tires to fit them for years. now that 18"+ wheels are becoming alot more common im sure well see the prices come down on them as well.

supercabs always seem to sit slightlylower than regular cabs, due to the added weight as mentioned before. if you look at the gen I, Gen II 4x2 regular cabs and the same in a supercab, the supercab "appears" to sit several inches lower. also, tire size plays into it as well.
