Default ford explorer leaf spring help

hey after christmas i am planning on doin a rear axle swap(4.10) and leaf springs so i can be geared for 33's and have im hoping about 2 to 2.5 inches of suspension lift in the rear. Along with that im goin to get new shocks all the way around. if anyone knows of good shocks and what size i need i would appreciate it. Also ideas to lift the front. I would also be taking the body lift off for now. thx

Believe it or not, I have explorer leaf springs in my ranger and a set of Nitrogen charged rough country shocks that fit a 4" lifted '86 F150 fit beautifully (on the rear). I had them lying around and put them on

I got 2 inches of lift and another 1/2 inch with the nitrogen shocks. Just call up rough country and ask to order 2 rear nitrogen shocks for a 1986 F150 with a 4" lift on it. They'll set you right up

Yea, beleive it or not. But you have to move your rear hanger back and rebolt them on. They are longer, have more flex(I think) and give you lift

I swapped my leaf springs out with an explorers and it will give you about 2 inches of lift depending on condition. The explorer I got mine out of was a friends 4 door 98. They are a direct bolt on nothing else needs to to get changed unless you want to swap the a leaf or two around to soften them up cause they are a stiffer spring rate. The eyelet distance between ranger and explorer springs is the same so you will not need to move your hanger. Shocks don't have an affect on your ride height so you wont get lift from there. Personally I would just use the stock shocks because they just stop short of bottoming out as you hit the bump stop also you don't want to over extend your brake lines on full drop. One of the added perks of doing this swap is you truck will not squat as much with a load in the back. Here is a pic from when I did my swap the explorer leaf spring is in the rear it only sat about an inch higher, but due to stiffer rate it ended up lifting it about an inch and a half.

chevy leafs 88-98 3/4ton get them rearched to the rangers eye to eye distance and run a longer shackle for the most lift.
