Default Ford Ranger lift? I would like to fit 33's .?

Its a 99 ranger ext cab 4x4. I know little about lifts. Limited budget. Whats better, suspension or body lift? How much should I lift it to get 33' tires? Also, what are the price ranges for lifts? Thanks

with a two inch body or suspension lift you could clear 33's pretty easy. if you plan on wheeling it you may want to trim up the lower parts of the wheel well a little

Crank your torsion bars, that should get you about 2" suspension for FREE! and put a block in the back to pick it up 2 more inches of suspension... then put a 3" body lift on, and you should be able to put 35" tires on too, but they'll rub some

What do you plan on doing with your truck? Is it just for looks? The body lifts will prolly run 250 on the high end for the kit, but to install you're lookin at another 250...

I fit 33x12.5s on my 00 bone stock. A 2" t bar crank gave it room to look good.

A 3" body lift too and you can clear 35s. Depending on the offset and backspacing you might be ramming the tire into the fenders. But mine were 15.5" wide so that could have been part of it.

If you wanna go cheap just hack out the fenders, or if you have gobs of cash get bulge fenders.

The BL allows for a much bigger tire which is maily what's going to contribute to "lifting" the vehical.

If he cranks the t bars 2", gets a 3" body lift, and goes from 29ish to 35ish tires his seat will be a total of 8" higher. Ish.

yeah littlebigfoot. i think people always forget about how much "lift" tires add. I was doin the math, and when i get done with my truck it'll sit about 6-8" higher than it is now(its not stock either haha) depending entirely on my tire size. Prolly be closer to 6". Oh and i dunno about anyone else, but i've had so many frickin girls complain about getting in! hahahaha

cranking t bars= bad idea! its a horrible ride and i know this for a fact becuz i have done it. hard to wheel with, rough road ride at highway speeds. a 3" body lift will fit 33's fine, which is what im doing to mine. i have a 98 ext cab 4x4, and a 3" bl will do fine, cheap, easy, same performance as a suspension lift without the cost. the only suspension lift that i have found for the 98-00 body style is superlift, and they are close to 2 grand. PA body lift: 189 bucks

Dont do the PA it costs more use the summit. Its 150. And cranking the bars will stiffen up the ride but some people like it and some dont.

Stiffen the front for ride height. It's a truck. Not a benz.

Keep the factory blocks but run an extended shackle and a traction aid in the rear.
The shitty front end will force the rear to do all the work.
The extended shackels free up potential leaf spring articulation.
The LSD or Posi or what ever your running makes up for the front end.
Get manual hubs and weld the front (if you eventually plan on ditching it)
Hack the fenders, run fender flares, or a body lift and you can fit 35s.
The 8.8" won't mind but eventually the D35 will. But it'll still be a sick little rig.

I agree with LBF! Its a truck people, no matter what you do, it is going to be a rough ride. Wheelin isn't meant to be like riding in a Benz at 120 MPH and not feel anything, trust me, I have been there doing that in the Benz here in Europe. Fun but not like flexing over that 3 foot rock on a path that most people won't even walk down! Just Git-er-Done.

i never said that it was a benz, but i lifted mine up all the way it could go, and guess what? it sucks. thats my opinion. my girl hates the rough ride and she said that he wont ride with me and we would take her civic everywhere. no way.
