Default 1998 ranger extended cab 4 door 2WD

so im looking for a lift kit, 3in lift to be exact.. i want it to be cheapish.. max i really want to spend is about 400 bucks.

i dont know which i should get a body lift, or a suspension lift..
i basically wanting it so it will look more sporty, and possibly bigger tires..

any good lifts out there?

thinking about some bfg at 30s, but i want some wider tires.. i want the tires to fit on the stock rims..

your best to get a body lift, a 3 inchbody lift for my 99 supercab cost me about $350 taxes in. took about 1 and a half days to install but worth it... a suspension lift would cost between $1000 - $2000. as for the tires depends on the size of your rims (width) whats the size of tires you have on it now and the rim size?

that lift is just rear blocks and front drop spindles. its not bad for the price, but you could turn the torsion bars to lift up the front up to 3 inches and do a add a leaf in the rear. it would do the same as that lift but cheaper... for tires heres BF goodrich site with a chart that tells you how wide you can go for your rim..

the torsion bars are more or less part of your front suspension. they are the 2 bars that hang down at the front of your door ( under truck ) and run to your lower controll arms. when you turn(tighten) them they will lower your front suspension wich in turn will lift the truck. you would have to ask someone eles how to do it because i dont know what is exactly involved. i am going to be doing it as soon as i figure out how.

There were t-bars on some Gen IV 2wds. But more than likely you have coils.

that lift will work if you have the 2 wheel drive truck i just instaled the same lift {diffrent mfg} and i had no problems took 2 of us about 2 and a half hours to put in but we had a lift to put the truck at chest height to work on and had air tools.

i took mine in today for an alighnment and it was still dead on? not quite shure how we managed that but who knows.
hope this helps.

Check with Fabtech. They offer a 3" Spindle lift pretty cheap. If you want more later you can keep that spindle and buy their upgrade package that can take you up to 5" not including the lift you get with taller tires.
