Default Gas Mileage After Lifting a 4.0L

Hi, I have a 4.0L 4x4 that is pretty stock. Ive always wanted to put a 4inch SL and some 33's on my ranger. But after reading a thread about gas mileage several rangers with 3in BLs and 33's said that they were getting around 8 miles per gallon city. Which I really couldnt afford to keep. Does anyone else with a ranger lifted in any way and some big tires have another decent projection of what mpg I could expect after a lift?

any input would be appreciated

Yeah I do, You WILL spend money in gas for sure with 33's. My truck is double lifted, I run 33's, Even taking my time it sucks gas. My truck is not my daily driver... Thank god, But The way I see it, I knew from the beginning I wanted a lifted truck and I knew what comes with that and having the bigger tires. I try to keep it well maintained so it runs well, but no matter what bigger tires=more gas used.

I must be a little nicer to my throttle because I have 285/75/R16's (33"s) and I get around 10-11mpg around town and 16-17mpg highway
That'll all change once the t3/t4 gets installed

change your gear ration in axles to bring it back to "stock" U will need 4.56 gears to do so.

Looking at close to $700 if you go with yukon gears and master overhaul kits with timken bearings from jeffsbroncograveyard.com that doesnt inclue the approx. $200-300 per axle to INSTALL them either...sooo....up to $1200 without lockers/posi's/limited slips if you go with a name brand gear
