Default looking for a 9in suspenion lift

i have a 2000 ranger xlt 4x4 and im looking to liftit another 9in since i have a 3 in body lift on it. i like the height and looks of rangers lifted 1 ft and i have been having a hell of a time trying to locate a lift or even a company that will fabricate a lift. and if any1 has any knowledge of what "travel" means i know its how far your wheel goes up and down but what does it refer to as far as lift height any help would be greatly appriated thanks! -Jake

as far as a lift for your truck, its gonna be totally custom, and very hard to do... the biggest lift you can buy is like 5.5 inches, what are you looking to do with it? show it or wheel it? a foot is a lot of lift, if you just wanna put big tires on it cut the hell out of the fender wells... dont qoute me on this but i would say wheel travel is the range of vertical motion yout axle has, but there are things that vary like up travel and down travel. also with articulation of the axles comes a lot of other problems like your wheel moving inward.

Yep, I wanted to double check I was pretty sure 5.5 was the biggist on the market right now. If you want that much lift you best bet is to SAS the front and either leaf it, or coil it. You could check with Camburg or DBR and see if maybe they can come up with a custom arm set up for you.

well im kinda leaning toward show but i like to go off roading too, yankee lake is about an hr and a half away from me and it isnt uncommon for me and a group of friends to be found up there on a friday night for truck night during their march-october season; @Dadangerranger do you happen to know what the lift size is on that ranger that you posted a pic on that looks real tough! im not afraid to half to do the work to build one since im going to school as a autobody tech im in my 2nd year and my father owns a custom fabrication/welding shop in cleveland (Jake's Heliarc Welding Co.) we just dont have a clear enough idea on the dimenions to fabricate one at the current time.

----------

where would i be able to find/buy a sold front axel and what size and brand should i get.

On the axle note- if your planning anything bigger then a 33 go with a dana 44 found in jeeps (wagoneer) ford full size (have it cut or run a full 9in in the rear).
Now for lift size- The way I have always done my SAS is I get my tires that I want to run now you have to decide do you want leaf packs front and rear, Coilover, or link susp? Now the best way to do it is is to weigh your truck so you get the body weight and side weight. Set your truk on a lift chop all of the IFS out of the front (thats the fun part) from there you have a lot of reading I can tell you alot on doing the SAS but you have to decide on what you want to run.

Here is a decent link the guys on here almost did all the work except weld it togather for him http://www.fordrangerforum.com/proje...axle-swap.html and another http://www.rangerpowersports.com/for...Width-D44-swap

From reading your posts, your in way over your head. Don't take this the wrong way but your not going to go from not knowing what suspension travel is to setting up a properly build Solid front end. There are a ton of steps and time in between that you need to cover.

Search TRS and Explorer4x4 for SAS builds. And when you think you have read enough, keep reading cause you havent.
