Default Torsion bar lift question!!

After finnaly talking to a lift shop that has the "add a key torsion bar lift for the front of my 2wd Ranger...Is this common to just lift the front 2 inches and nothing in the rear? Anyone have any oppinions on if this is bad to do? My thoughts..Do the lift, see if the tires still look ok maybe add a nicer better pair of shocks to the front..Need advice/opinions as I go for the "not a grocery hauler look!" Oh adn they are wanting $500.00 to the lift sound right?
Thanks

are you sure your truck has torsion bar front suspension? if its the truck you have in your sig, which is a "XL" trim, they would have coil spring front.

Somebody correct me if Im wrong though, maybe they changed them for the brand new ones?

yea no t-bars for you. cheapest way would be coil spacers but they make your ride more stiff then it already is. You can get a body lift for around $150, and i would suggsest finding a couple buddies to help install, will take a good day. 3" spindle lift for the front, costs around $350 or so, can easily do it in your garage, just rent a ball joint puller from your local parts store, the rest you should be able to do with tools around your garage. and then a shackle or AAL in the back

a stock coil spring 2wd ranger will take 30x9.5 tires. I had them on my 01 2wd XLT and raised it an inch or two.

All about $$$$ they would have charged you for something when all they did was put in coil spacers. From what I understand those are bad. They are pretty cheap but not worth it.
