Default Lift for 2WD Ranger

I have a 99 2WD ranger that I would like to lift a least 3"

I know there is body lift, and spindle lifts but i'm trying to figure the cheapest best way to go for me and where to find these parts.

I really don't plan to wheel it, but I may once and awhile. Mostly the lift would be just to get it off the ground because it feels so low to me and I used to have a truck I wheeled so I like trucks that sit high.

Which route would be the best? From what I remember the ride of a body lift is a rough ride, but the cheapest.

If I did a spindle in the front, and AAL in the rear, which would be the cheapest/best one?

Also, once I do get the lift, which size tires/rims do you recommend? I really want to run some black steelies, if possible. I do not want to do fender cutting if possible.

Let me get some input from you guys, thanks!

I'm not familiar with the 2wd lifts so if I get the spindle then do I need something for the back? Like a AAL?

Ya AAL in the back and depending on how high in the back a chevy drop shackle flipped will raise it up some also

I've heard people have had amazing success on Fabtech's lifts. 3in lift spindles and I believe they also have a full kit available for 5in of lift, should you consider more lift.

The body lift would not change how your truck rides really as you are not touching the suspension. Your center of gravity would change, so that would change some of your driving habits if you drive fast. Cheapest route is the body lift. Spindle is easiest though I feel, can get it done in a few hours with 2 people. You would be able to run 32s on that with maybe a slight slight rub at full lock. 31s for 100% no rub. Steelies weigh a lot so I would recommend maybe getting some black aluminum wheels. And get them in 15x8 with at least 4" backspace.

I prefer the spindle lift if you are going to wheel it at all. Plus body lift gives you the gap and you can see your frame rails hanging below your cab...

I actually think I want to go the 5" lift way, What parts do I need to order? How much would this cost?

I don't want to do a bodylift, but I want to keep it cheap and it's a 4x2 so not much wheeling, maybe a little. It's a 3.0L

Pretty sure you have the coil suspension, so you need, 3" spindle, 2.5" Lift coils with new UCA (Upper Control Arm) for the front. The back, you will want a chevy drop shackle, explorer AAL and a 2" ford factory block.
