I did know a dude that did that after I joked about doing it. I was shocked when he actually did do it. I don't know how they've held up, but being that pucks are made of the same stuff that tires and many, if not most, other rubber products (vucalnized rubber) they'd hold up just as long. Being under the bed out of direct sunlight and only wet when it rains or for an hour or so after a wash, I'd think they'd last for quite a while longer than tires would. Even so, I was being goofy but apparently some people don't know sarcasm when they see it... what tools.
I hope you didn't go checking how much a pack of 10 hockey pucks cost on Ebay.

I think you'll be fine with 15" rims. They're much cheaper than 16,17,18" rims too.

i know but i like the look of the 17 and 18s, this is more for show, then off roading most i'll ever do with it, is go blasting threw snow drifts and hit a few small holes,

Everyone here hates them(because you should really get hardened torsion bars and shocks), but I got a set of $40 aftermarket torsion keys off of ebay and put an add-a-leaf in the back and it brought me up about 3" all around and it sits level. Turn the keys all the way up and then down 2-3 turns so it's not maxed out. I run a 285/75R16 (33") and don't rub at all. Hope this helps.

Aftermarket torsion keys are degreed different so you can crank them up more than you could stock. This puts more stress on your suspension and will wear out cv joints and ball joints faster. This becomes a problem mainly if your truck is used for offroading as your suspension is being put to the test more so than in street driving. They basically stretch your shocks, which will make your ride quality a bit more stiff. This is solved by getting a set of longer, better shocks. Every modification has its pros and cons, as Ford spent thousands of hours designing your truck to work best the way it comes off the showroom floor. I know at least 25 locals with 50k+miles on their torsion key lifts without any issues. Hope this helps.

you really dont need to run a 12.50 unless you have a body lift and at least 15x8s.
A bodly lift is like $180 and if you install it youself, its free to do that....
