Superlift kits and shock absorbers

Does anyone have any experience with Superlift kits? I was looking at their 4" lift for a 2004 4x4 and from what I heard is that the kits are good but the shocks that come with it are cheap and not very good. Seems like many people swap them out for bilstein 5100's but they don't make them for a lot of model years, this one included.
Any recommendations from people who have run them?

My question would be what are you trying to do? Are you casing down the ability to put your truck on 35-37" wheels? Or a particular look? Or are you into the overlanding community?

There are better things for near same or more money but generally the older Ranger crowd is defined now by those who are older and wont spend anything more than what they perceive is value to them or younger and don't carry the financial fortitude to do things better than what was available 2 decades ago.., and its not even anything to do with being period correct. It's just a mindset.

So aside from opinions I would ask what are you looking to achieve? Just a lifted truck for looks or one that's that has function and a purpose because you're doing different terrains and payloads simply put?

That was one of the kits yes. I am only trying 33's and to do a bit of Arizona overlanding. I'm not looking to do anything crazy like jump it but it also will not be a pavement princess.
The main uses will be simply for getting from A to B for hunting/camping trips out into mountainous terrain.

If you look into the universal bilstein 5125s and use a simple bar pin eliminator kit you can run a much better shock then what the superlift provides, just need to find the right measurements!
