Re: 11 Ranger 4x4 lift questions
PreKey Mod will get you almost 2". Plus you have the almost 2" tbar crank available that has been deemed acceptable after an alignment on 98-07.
PreKey is the installation of 98-07 STOCK torsion keys on a 08-11 truck. In 08, Ford lowered the tbar trucks almost 2" up front by reclocking the slot the tbar fits into the key and a full inch out back and 1" shorter lift block. PreKey at the same torsion bar adjustment bolt depth nets you nearly 2" of new found ride height.
That being said, an aftermarket leveling key can be acceptable and perfectly safe for a 08-11 tbar Ranger if used conservatively. Set it up for 3" new ride height. That advertised levels of lift (3") are for the 98-07 Rangers...and that takes it beyond parts longevity thanks to angles. 3" to a 08-11 is the almost 2" ride height lost from 98-07 plus an inch of tbar crank. It'll be reliable and proper in geometry. You'll want something out back because it'll look a little a$$ saggy. I suggest Belltech 6400 shackles. They have two usable holes for the leaf springs to mount to....one for approx 1.5" lift and another for approx 0.75" lift.
I always suggest a set of adjustable cambolts for the upper control arms whether stock or lifted or lowered plus an alignment after this sort of change.
