Default Lift amount?

Hey guys. Just bought a 98 ranger. It has a lift kit on it of an unknown height. Its sitting on 31's and the fender arch peaks at 37". Wondering what amount of lift might be on this truck. Need to replace front shocks and dont know what length to buy.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Best thing to do is to measure the actual droop of a frt/rear wheel setup and then measure the compression of a frt/rear [generally the same side] to get a more accurate measurement. This way you're not guessing and wasting time, energy, and money to do it wrong.

this makes for a good guide on the process. http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/su...re-for-shocks/

The check your fav shock company, Fox, Rancho, Bilstien, VID.., etc for applications and dont forget to mention whether its a stem or an eye-bolt for the top of the fronts. They'll generally spend some time with you on the application aspects.

----------

BTW, when making a post, you generally only need to post it in one, and the appropriate forum.

Apparently that's Vietnamese for 1.5m and 2m lift kits... I'd stay away from the fiberglass lift kit tho

Post a picture of the area behind the front wheels a few steps in front of the truck (crouch down). Also take a picture of where the axle connects to the leaf spring, then follow the spring to the rear of the truck and post a picture of that connection as well.

You look like a 2wd XL or XLT and I will guess 3-4" spindles up front with either a block, shackle, or add a leaf (or combo of two) in the rear.

Agreed, might have front could spring spaces but idk his tire size. Usually spindles don't look so high but idk. Mines getting lowered but I've looked at both lowered and lifted because i was torn between the 2 so I've seen a lot of lift set ups.

Possible. A better picture of the lower A arms and we would know for certain.
