01 Edge T-Bar upgrade from “B” to “1”
So I’m in need of Torsion bars pretty bad, I have the notorious t-bar sag and wanna replace my bars with better ones, I checked the spring code on the door sticker and it said BK, did a little research and found out that “1” bars are stiffer than “B” bars, so my question is, will they be compatible with my ranger?

Yep. The torsion bars themselves never changed in design (other than the spring rates). The torsion keys, however, did change in 2008.

Re: 01 Edge T-Bar upgrade from “B” to “1”
So will I have to buy the right keys for “1” bars or will they fit in no problems? Also, if I get the “1” bars what else will I have to replace

Re: 01 Edge T-Bar upgrade from “B” to “1”
1 bars are a direct replacement for B bars requiring no other parts or mods. Left and right are different lengths, so a swap to #1 bars would need one of each side. There is a special tool to relieve tension on the bar for removal but some use a conventional puller instead. In any case, extra care must be taken doing this - lots of stored energy in the torsion bar, even at top out.

2001 Ford keys are the same for 1 and B. Aftermarket sells "lift" keys but they aren't needed.

Re: 01 Edge T-Bar upgrade from “B” to “1”
We could have it for the 99 up Ranger and Edge 4X4 and as I have it, the left and right bars are different lengths. LH is 43.00. RH is 41.875. I would have to check the stock diameter.
If there was enough interest involved, we could have these bars produced. The bars would maintain the hex end at the A-Arm side of the vehicle but replace the cam side with a new splined cam. The bars splined end slides into the splined cam [which would be included] and allows for virtually infinite adjustment, albeit you would see a 12-14% increase in rate over stock or better as well.
Additional manufacturing information would be the following: - Manufactured from solid 4340 alloy steel
- Heat treated for increased strength
- Centerless ground for consistent outside diameter and rate
- Powder coated to resist corrosion
