Default Rough Country 4" lift not level

Last weekend I installed the 4" Rough Country lift on my '96 2wd 4.0. The brackets and springs in the front are supposed to account for 4" of lift while a smaller 3" lift block in the rear is supposed to level it out. Unfortunately it didn't level out so well. I didn't expect it would be perfect but it honestly looks like about the same amount of "rake" as it had before the lift. What are my options? I've read that coil spacers can be harsh plus I dont know if the shocks that came with the kit will have enough travel for that? I have been talking with someone from Rough Country through e-mail and they've asked for some measurements and a picture of the truck. Maybe they will help, although I don't know what they do in a situation like this but I wanted to check with you guys and see if anyone else has had this issue with the 4" 2wd kit.

Follow through with measurements at least for now and see what they come up with at least. Rough country is a good company.

They sent me some new front springs to try out. The ones I have could potentially be weak and causing it to sag, although he said they haven't had that problem with a Ranger so we'll see. If these new ones don't solve the problem I'm just going to buy some 6" lift springs for the front...either BDS or Skyjacker (not sure which) since Rough Country doesn't make any 6" springs for the Ranger.

I would consider looking at another company's or at Skyjackers 4" springs before going to a nominal 6" spring thinking it would be any better otherwise a different set of front shocks may be needed as well adding to your thoughts & cost factors.

Also, not to challenge your abilities, but sometimes when something doesnt seem right and it technically should be, I've had to involve a fellow gear-head for there eyes and thoughts just to be sure I didn't miss something my eyes have missed just for safe thoughts.

hope the newer springs you get were/are the issue and you get your remedy.

I believe with the leveling kit, they have different springs for a 4.0 vs a 2.3. I have a 2.3 single cab and I have the 4 inch rough country. Mine sits level. I have a full size 33 tire in the bed and an air compressor and air tank as well. My rear leaf springs are worn. The 6 inch coils will work with the 4 inch brackets from what I have read. Except you need longer brake lines. The 4 inch pushes them to their limits when fully extended. also if your wanting to do tires, I just installed 33x12.50 on 15x8 and it looks great. Rubs on the swap bar at full lock. I also suggest not getting the sway bar drop brackets, and instead getting longer end links.
